“Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.” (Psalms 40:8)
God calls each of us to a life of purpose and love — some through marriage and family, others through priesthood, religious life, or committed lay ministry. At Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop Parish, we are committed to walking alongside those who are discerning their vocation.
🙏 Called by God, Supported by Community
Discerning a vocation can be exciting, challenging, and deeply sacred. No one should walk that journey alone. We are here to encourage, accompany, and pray for those exploring where God might be leading them — whether to diocesan priesthood, religious life, consecrated single life, or lay leadership within the Church.
✝️ Are You Discerning Priesthood or Religious Life?
We invite you to:
• Speak confidentially with Fr. Prakash or Fr. Mohan about your call
• Connect with vocations directors in the Diocese of Hamilton
• Spend time in Eucharistic Adoration and personal prayer
• Attend retreats and discernment weekends when available
• Join in service and parish ministries to grow in faith and leadership
🕊️ Lay Ministry – Leading with Faith
God also calls many to serve the Church as catechists, youth leaders, pastoral workers, or chaplains. If you feel drawn to lay ministry, we would love to support your growth through:
• Formation and training opportunities
• Mentorship and spiritual guidance
• Involvement in liturgical and outreach ministries
“Do not be afraid.” (Luke 1:30)
Discerning a vocation isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about being open to God’s gentle whisper and taking the next step in faith.
📩 Want to talk or ask questions?
Feel free to contact the parish office to arrange a chat with one of our priests or pastoral team. We are here to walk with you.
Pray. Listen. Trust. God is calling.
